History of SES

Santisuk English School (SES) was started in March 1993 around a ping-pong table in the garage of Steve and Nopaluck Cable’s home in Santinivet Village on Ladprao Road in the Bangkapi area of Bangkok. The first students came from Ramkamhang University. After about a year and a half, a town-house in Santinivet Village was rented and served as the first English center. Tuition in the beginning was a modest 300 baht. We have never advertised on TV, radio, or in newspapers. Some American friends began helping with the teaching in 1995 and now we have American teachers every session.

SES is now in its 6th location. We moved here in August 2005. Each year, we register hundreds of new students. We average nearly 200 students in classes every session including our branch centers in LadkrabangSilom, and Phahonyotin .

SES has a scholarship program called “Leadership for the New Millennium” or LFNM. Over the years, 45 different SES students have been selected to go to the U.S. to observe and interview various American business, community, and political leaders. LFNM was held in 2001, 2002, 2005, 2012, 2015, 2018, and 2022. Former scholarship recipients are working as administrative staff and teachers in SES, all around Thailand, and across the globe today. LFNM scholarships include airfare, housing with American families, food, all transportation costs in the US, and all entrance fees to all activities. You can see what the most recent LFNM team did in our LFNM Photos section. Our next LFNM trip to the US will be in June of 2025.
